August 2026 - Release Notes

Here is a summary of updates released in August 2026. In the Web Client, we prepared for the Free plan changes taking effect on October 1, 2026 (switching the data transfer limit and capture retention period, and adding announcements), and added a product introduction video to the top page. We also fixed issues such as an error when uploading IPA files and push notifications not being delivered when comments were posted. In the Android Client, we released version 1.25.0 of the Android TV app for self-hosted environments, which fixes display issues. For iOS, we released the new DeployGate iOS app on the App Store and improved the error display on the notification settings page of the iOS Client (Web Clip).

Web Client Changes​

Preparation for the Free Plan Changes (Effective October 1, 2026)​

In preparation for the Free plan changes taking effect on October 1, 2026, we made the following updates.

  • Starting October 1, the data transfer limit will change from 5 GB/month to 3 GB/month. To prevent transfers from being suspended immediately after the switch, data transferred before October 1 is excluded from the calculation.
  • Starting October 1, the capture retention period will be extended from 3 days to 90 days. Captures from 3 to 90 days ago that have not been deleted will automatically be displayed again on and after October 1.
  • We added an announcement about the plan changes and a link to the FAQ (Japanese / English) directly below the Free plan description on the pricing page and the top page.

Added a Product Introduction Video to the Top Page​

We added a product introduction video (Vimeo) section directly below the hero area on the DeployGate top page (Japanese / English). On the Japanese page, Japanese subtitles are displayed by default during playback.

Fixed an Error When Uploading iOS Apps (IPA)​

We fixed an issue where uploading an IPA file whose Info.plist contained string elements in CFBundleURLTypes resulted in an error (422) and the upload failed.

Fixed Push Notifications Not Being Delivered for Comments​

We fixed an issue where, for a short period starting around August 25, 2026, push notifications were not delivered when comments were posted on distributed apps. No other features were affected.

Fixed the Display of the Project List Under a Workspace​

We fixed an issue where the "Trial ended / Payment settings" badge intended for the legacy Group plan was incorrectly displayed on the project list page under a workspace (/organizations/{name}). The link in the badge led to a dead end for workspaces paying by credit card. Information about payments and expiration dates can still be checked in the workspace admin console as before.

Security Updates for Dependency Libraries​

We updated the dependency libraries used by the web frontend server to incorporate fixes for reported vulnerabilities and memory safety issues.

Android Client Changes​

Released Android TV App 1.25.0 (Self-Hosted Edition)​

We released version 1.25.0 of the DeployGate app for Android TV for self-hosted environments. It fixes the following display issues. Note that the Google Play version of 1.25.0 was released in September.

  • Fixed an issue where the comment field on the capture submission screen was nearly unreadable on a dark background due to a purple border, label, and cursor combined with black input text. It is now displayed correctly in the theme colors.
  • Fixed an issue where loading indicators (such as the loading views on the app details, revision list, and capture details screens, and download progress) were displayed in purple. They are now displayed in the theme colors.

iOS Client Changes​

Released the DeployGate iOS App on the App Store​

We released the native DeployGate iOS app (v1.0) on the App Store. It lets you browse the list of apps under test, check and install revisions, join distribution pages (with QR code / Universal Links support), and log in with Google, GitHub, or SAML. You can also use screen recording (replay capture) to record the screen while operating the app, annotate the recorded video, and send it as feedback along with device information. The app supports Japanese and English and is available on iOS 17.0 or later.

Improved Error Display on the Notification Settings Page​

We fixed an issue in the iOS Client (Web Clip) where registering or deleting an email address on the notification settings page redirected to a full-screen error page when a known error occurred, such as an expired device session or a deleted configuration profile. A localized error message is now displayed in a dialog instead.
